Registering to vote

If you are new to the neighborhood, please register now to vote at your new address so you'll be ready for the next elections.

Email us at democratsof409@yahoo.com for "house call" registration service, visit the Travis County Tax Office site (you can also check on your registration at this site), or call the Elections Division of the County Clerk’s office at 238-VOTE. If you've been here awhile and haven't registered, or aren't sure whether you are, that's fine--just email us and we'll make sure you're fixed up and ready to cast a ballot. Deputy registrars in our neighborhood can register anyone living in Travis County, as well as assist people from other counties with forms and information.

Voting

Precinct 409 election day polling place in most elections is Galindo Elementary School, 3800 South 2nd Street. (If you're not sure whether you live in Precinct 409, check here.)

For most elections, early voting is available beginning a few weeks before election day and ending a few days before the election. Historically, the closest early voting location to our neighborhood is the H-E-B at Congress and Oltorf. An air-conditioned trailer is set up in the west part of the parking lot, convenient for parking and handicapped accessible. At this location, polls are usually open Monday - Friday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and anyone within Travis County can vote there during the early voting period. We'll post more specific information when elections are near.
