The following is a list of just some of the support groups in our area, or with members from our area.

The affiliation of other groups should be obvious (but if not, will appear in [brackets]). 
I'm attempting to make this listing alphabetical by Group Name -- for those groups where the location may not be specifically reflected in the name, I've put the city in parentheses.
  • Austin Area Homeschoolers Online Newcomers’ Guide – an excellent resource for new homeschoolers or new to the Austin area homeschoolers. [I]
  • Austin Well-Trained Mind/Charlotte Mason Discussion Group All Austin, Texas Area homeschool families who have been inspired by "The Well-Trained Mind" by Jessie Wise and Susan Wise Bauer are welcome to discuss issues involving homeschooling our children in the classical method. Discussions involving the use of Charlotte Mason methods and other classical interpreters are also encouraged. All ages from infants to veteran homeschoolers in the midst of the grammar, logic or rhetoric stages are encouraged to join us, as are all faiths. We are an inclusive group. [I]

  • Welcomes all homeschooling families in Bastrop County.  There are no religious requirements in order to join. There are no requirements of other memberships in order to join.
    We welcome all races, ethnic groups and religions. Parents of children of all learning styles and abilities/disabilities are welcome. [I]
  • Christian Home Educators Association of Central Texas (CHEACT)—statement of faith and dues required.
  • Dripping Springs Area Homeschool Association:

  • A Network for Home Education in the Dripping Springs, Texas Area - providing a way for area homeschoolers, as well as those families considering homeschooling, to connect with other homeschoolers and to plan and announce workshops, field trips, and group activities. 
    A network for home education in Dripping Springs, Texas and surrounding communities -- DSAHA welcomes any and all families who are considering or who choose to educate their children at home. There are no membership dues and no special requirements for membership. [I]
  • cayatexas · Come As You Are:  A diverse, welcoming homeschool support group for families located in and around the (New Braunfels), Tx area. This is an inclusive group with no religious affiliation and a serious slant towards natural and attachment parenting. We have a weekly gathering and regular participation is expected.  [I] 
  • Holy Family Homeschoolers (Austin -- Support and field trip group with a Catholic focus, though we don't require any statement of faith.We have field trips and other activities such as a curriculum exchange, Moms' nights out, and a 4th of July picnic.  For more information contact HFH.
  • Learning Without Limits [I] is a secular homeschooling community in the Williamson County and far North Travis County area.  We are Hindus, Jews, Christians, Atheists, Pagans, Republicans, Libertarians, Democrats, Unschoolers, Classicists.....Some of us have been homeschooling for quite some time and others have just decided to do so.  We have kids of all ages and our parenting and homeschooling styles often differ.  What we have in common is a deeply rooted commitment to our children, an equally deep-rooted respect for diversity and a willingness to share our individual experiences as well as to support one another's individual paths without imposing our own.  We offer a Mother's Night Out, Park Days and summertime pool and lake activities.  Contact List Owner for more information.
  • MidTex Inclusive Homeschoolers [I] - MIH serves the Bell County area with activities in Killeen, Harker Heights, Temple and Belton.  The group has an email group for communication, support, and information on local resources.  We welcome all area home educators regardless of religious beliefs or homeschooling styles.   • Round Rock Christian Home Educators -- contact Angi Hughes RRCHE_Angi@yahoo.com.
  • San Gabriel Homeschoolers:  An inclusive homeschool support group for Georgetown, Round Rock, Leander (Texas) and surrounding areas. We welcome diversity! We have come together in the spirit of raising our children in a caring, respectful environment. Our group is named for the San Gabriel Rivers, which flow through our area.

  • Smoothing the Way [I] -- is a support group in Austin, Texas, which is dedicated to serving first-year homeschooling mothers.  Each month a topic of specific interest to the new homeschooler is offered.  Veteran homeschooling moms and guest speakers are available to inform and encourage those who have decided to take on the exciting, yet sometimes daunting, task of educating their own children.  This Christian group is open to all, its focus being on helping new homeschoolers get started.  Fees are involved.

  • TAFFIE (Texas Advocates for Freedom in Education) [I] -- The TAFFIE mailing list is for anyone interested in topics related to homeschooling in Texas and offers a wide range of perspectives and beliefs. http://www.jsoft.com/archive/taffie/
  • Texas Home School Coalition -- dedicated to serving and protecting the homeschool community of Texas
  • TxGifted [I] -- an e-mail group, is a non-sectarian, inclusive group of Texans who are homeschooling their gifted children.
