Success of The Mayor's Book Club program prompted creation of "Write On, Austin!" as a place where veteran and aspiring authors can offer stories about their lives and our city. Austinites of all backgrounds, experiences, and neighborhoods are invited to share their stories in celebration of Austin. These stories will be viewable through this website and in the permanent archives of the Austin History Center.

Now, thanks to the combined efforts of the original collaborators, the Austin Public Library, and the additional support of community-minded volunteers at Metropolitan Austin Interactive Network, a webspace is ready to extend Mayor Wynn’s vision. Write On, Austin! encourages people to continue to write about their experiences living in Austin and contribute their stories to the growing community archive.

Please be sure to visit this important new community site at http://www.writeonaustin.org, and have a look around!
