Arboretum Toastmasters provides several benefits to its members.

• Opportunity to practice and develop public speaking skills - both prepared and impromptu
• Opportunity to learn how to conduct meetings effectively
• Opportunity to obtain immediate feedback on performance
• Opportunity to follow the step-by-step approach detailed in the Toastmasters Manual
• Opportunity to practice and develop listening skills and provide effective evaluations
• Opportunity to learn how to give and take constructive criticism
• Opportunity to participate in speech contests at various levels.
• Opportunity to practice develop advanced speaking skills - e.g. for entertainment, storytelling, etc.

and Costs . . .

Dues for Toastmasters are minimal. Initially, there is a new member fee of $16.00, which covers the cost of learning materials. Dues are payable semiannually in April and October. When you join, your dues are pro-rated for each month you are a member. Dues are $3.00 per month to Toastmasters International and $2.00 per month to Arboretum Toastmasters. Your International dues help to cover your subscription to the monthly magazine The Toastmaster, while your club dues are used purchase member awards, supplies, and administrative materials for the club. So, for the monthly investment of $5.00, you receive the benefits of Toastmasters all the way up to the International level!
