VALERIE LACOUR FRANCOIS (Austin) serves as the Division Manager of Human Resources for the City of Austin Solid Waste Services Department. She is a member of the Advisory Board for Virginia College in Austin assisting with development and approval of curriculum for degree programs in Human Resources, Business, etc. She currently serves as a board member of ASPA Centex. She also is a member of the African American Heart Association Task Force whose mission is to generate funds and awareness of heart disease in the African American community.

The nature of the relationship and time commitment are worked out between the student and Mentor. Work-shadowing and personal meetings provide excellent experience for students.
