The Damenchor was organized in 1959. Their primary purpose is to promote interest in the preservation of the German Song thorough its' annual Christmas concert and participation in the Annual German Texan Saengerfest. It also sponsors Saengerrunde Kinderchor (Children's Choir).
Regular singing rehearsals are held on Monday evenings except for summer months. Two general business meetings are held each year. Funds are raised by selling refreshments and crafts at annual Saengerrunde Maifest and Oktoberfest, and though a nominal dues structure.
The
annual Damenchor Christmas concert is open to the public as a gift to the community.
Additionally, the choir participates in hosting Saengerfests, and singing at
churches, schools, retirement homes, and ethnic festivals. See the Events/ Fest

The Damenchor provides an opportunity for ladies who are interested in singing and learning more about the German language and traditions.
