Saengerrunde
Bowlers
Bowling or Kegeln is a significant part of German Heritage. It has been an ongoing part of Saengerrunde social life since 1895.
The Saengerrunde club facility includes a six-lane bowling alley sanctioned and maintained to ABC standards. It is available to all club members. There are five nights of league howling, September through May. Mixed leagues are on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Men's leagues are Monday and Thursday. During the summer months there is one night of mixed league bowling.
All Saengerrunde member bowlers are eligible to howl in an annual club tournament and an annual Texas Tenpin tournament. In addition, the club has an annual member/guest tournament. All tournaments and leagues are sanctioned by the ABC and by WIBC.
Our club offers an enjoyable, affordable environment for both serious and not so serious bowlers, and for both young and old. Fellowship and family atmosphere are paramount.
The Damen Kegel Verein (DKV) is. a Sangerrunde ladies Social group organized in 1935. Their primary function is to support club bowling activity. However, it is totally dedicated to promoting fellowship throughout Saengerrunde.
The organization holds monthly meetings, except during the summer. In addition to conducting DKV business, the meetings normally include a speaker or an activity, such as bingo, followed by refreshments.
Funds are raised by selling food and refreshments at Saengerrunde bowling tournaments and through a very nominal annual dues fee. Money raised is used to support club bowling and to sponsor three annual social events:
Our Damen Kegel Verein provides a great opportunity for ladies, both bowlers and non-bowlers to participate in activities at Saengerrunde.
