The Maennerchor

The Saengerrunde Maennerchor was organized with the beginning of the Club in 1879. Their primary purpose is to promote and enjoy German singing and tradition. The Maennerchor serves as the governing body of Austin Saengerrunde.

Regular singing rehearsals are held on Monday evenings with the exception of summer months. Also, it holds quarterly business meetings with the first quarterly meeting in June being designated as its annual meeting. See the Events/ Fest for the specific dates/ times.

The Maennerchor determines a calendar of outside engagements which includes an annual Saengerfest, and singing at churches, schools, retirement homes, and ethnic festivals. It coordinates the hosting of visiting singing clubs from Germany.

Additionally they oversee club social events including monthly club dances (excluding summer), the Maifest and Oktoberfest, the Annual Saengerrunde Picnic, and Quarterly birthday parties for singers.

Saengerrunde business activities such as Scholz Garden lease, hall rental and facilities management is managed by the Maennerchor.

The Maennerchor offers its members an opportunity to participate in the core activity of the Austin Saengerrunde.
