CHORGEMEINSCHAFT TEXAS MINUTES

Amelia Mettke, Secretary

These are the general meeting minutes of Chorgemeinschaft Texas held July 22nd, 2006. President, Claus Heide, called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. at the Austin Saengerrunde Halle. There were 50 members present. Secretary Amelia Mettke read the minutes from the previous meeting. There was one correction: Evansville is in Illinois, not Ohio. The minutes were approved as corrected. Treasurer Paul Mettke presented the financial report. He reported balances of $1,250.00 in the checking account and $37,201.60 in the money market account. He also reminded those planning on participating in the Northwest Tour in 2007 that they should have paid a total of $430.00 per person as of July 1, 2006. The next payment in the amount of $190.00 will be due October 1, 2006. The report was approved as read.

Vice President Albert Holck recognized Anna and Helmut Hartmann, and Amelia and Paul Mettke for setting up for the luncheon and meeting.

Under Old Business, Claus Heide reported that he had received the contract for the convention center in San Antonio for the 2010 Saengerfest. He recognized Sylvia Cook for her work in getting this deal put together. The first payment will be due July 31, 2006, in the amount of $1,670.00 with a second payment due July 31, 2007 also in the amount of $1,670.00. The total cost of the facility will be $16,000.00 plus. We will have to use a City approved caterer for the meals. Committees will be appointed for organizing the Saengerfest. Members should begin thinking about the committee on which they would like to serve. All clubs must assist in this endeavor in order to make it a success. We anticipate 1,800 to 2,000 singers to participate in the Saengerfest.

Helmut Hartmann made a motion seconded by Carolyn Thompson that we borrow the money for the payments from the Chorgemeinschaft. The motion carried.

John Donohue reported that the cost per person for the round trip to Evansville by bus will be approximately $162.00. If we stop overnight in Little Rock, Arkansas, the cost will be $302.00 per person or $394.00 per couple. We would arrive in Evansville at approximately 2:00 p.m. if we stop overnight in Little Rock. It was agreed by general consensus that we would take two days and spend the night in Little Rock to travel to and from Evansville. For those who are interested in flying, the cost is $435.00 per person. The distance one way is 960 miles and it is estimated that the cost would be $392.00 per person or $410.00 per couple traveling together.

There was no New Business. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 1:45 p.m.
