- ARS main site. The American Recorder Society is a not-for-profit educational membership organization formed in 1939 to advance the Recorder through the free exchange of information.
- Dallas Recorder Society. The Dallas chapter of the American Recorder Society, one of only 3 chapters in Texas.
- Rio Grande Chapter of ARS. In Las Cruces, New Mexico, this counts as a Texas chapter in our book. They claim El Paso as a second home.
- La Follia Austin Baroque, founded in 1980 and based in Austin, Texas, performs Baroque music using instruments and performance styles proper to the Baroque period (c. 1600-1750).
- The Texas Early Music Project, founded in 1987 by Daniel Johnson, is dedicated to preserving and advancing the art of Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, and early Classical music through performance, recordings, and educational outreach.
- The St. Cecilia Music Series at First Presbyterian Church on Mesa Drive, in north Austin. Not all early music, but all quality!
- Jan Jackson's Passing Measures (Mediaeval/Renaissance ensemble)
- Heralds and Minstrels, Austin-area early music performing group. Coordinator: Peg Sexton.
- Texas Early Music, an on-line listing of Early Music organizations, events and performers in the state of Texas. Send us your early music event listings and news.
- Houston Early Music, a chartered non-profit organization whose purpose is to present historically-informed performances of early music.
- The Texas Toot is a grass roots early music workshop. It puts on a weeklong summer workshop and a weekend workshop in the fall. The Toot has become a main stay of Texas tradition.
- Boulder Early Music Shop : run by our old friends from the Texas Toot, Kim Shrier and Carol Deihl, BEMS offers a wide range of music and instruments, along with always friendly service.
- Lazar's Early Music : Bill Lazar stocks an incredibly wide range of recorders and other instruments, and is always ready to share his experience and advice when you have questions.
- Honeysuckle Music : Lots of recorders and recorder music, as well as music for guitar, keyboard, and other instruments. Jean Allison Olson is the proprietor.
- Choral Public Domain Library : "If you love something, set it free". Thousands of contributed scores and midi files for public domain vocal and choral works. Many are very well suited for recorders and other instrumental ensembles.
- Werner Icking Music Archive : this is actually a link to the site's "index by composer", which is much less confusing than their home page. Thousands of public domain compositions in various formats, both instrumental and vocal. This site is maintained by Christian Mondrup.
- Mondrup Recorder music : related to the Werner Icking site in that it is a selection of just recorder music from that site, maintained (again) by Christian Mondrup and Annette Mondrup.
- Partituras de Solo Voces para descargar : site is in Spanish; contains pdf files of early vocal music and lyrics. Featured are pieces from Cancionero de Palacio, Cancionero de Uppsala, and "Others" (Gallus, Victoria, Praetorius etc. through Mendelssohn and Brahms).
- LoveSchubert Recorder Music : maintained by Japanese recorder player/enthusiast "Yoshi"; works by both old and new composers, arranged for recorder, annotated with instruments and skill level required. Many are available only as MIDI files on the Web, but pdf of sheet music available by request.
- The Virtual Recorder : Midi practice scores and advice, maintained by Nicholas Lander.
