This is a National Event. No club weigh-ins allowed. One Honor Roll point for Top Texas (open) wrestler placing 1st– 6th. $25.00 fee per OPEN entry $20.00 fee per Rookie entry.

No late entries will be accepted.  Team Representatives will be contacted by Wed. Evening 21st, confirming entries. Be certain to enter at USA Weights and divisions.  You may only enter once, no double weight classes or divisions. You must make weight (wearing a singlet) in the weight class listed on your pre-registration. Moving up will not be allowed. Birth Certificates (Copy) must be available if requested by the event director. Rookies may enter in both divisions.

Directions:

Take IH 35 to Hwy 71 West (Also called Ben White.  It turns into 290 West.)

Take Ben White / 71 /290 west to Brodie lane exit and on your left make a U-turn under bridge. Drive and park at the East end of football stadium.

This 290 is south of Town Lake!

CLARIFICATIONS

  1. Clarification for what divisions will be offered.
    There will be a Rookie Division for Rookie wrestlers only. 
    If a wrestler has wrestled in any tournaments prior to 4/01/03, then he or she is not a rookie. 
    Rookie division is for first year folk style wrestlers only.  There will be an Open Division for all other wrestlers.  2nd year and beyond. 
    Novice wrestlers (2nd year wrestlers or wrestlers with previous folk style experience prior to this folk style wrestling season) must enter in the Open Division for this tournament. 

    Rationale:  Most of the National tournaments only have an Open division.  We wanted to give the true Rookies a chance to wrestle only other rookies for a change so that they can have at least one tournament with other rookies before the "State Rookie" tournament. 
    Any wrestler who has entered into the Rookie division incorrectly can be changed to the Open Division.  Please notify us regarding this change on or before Tuesday, Jan. 20th.  Any wrestler who we find out has entered into the Rookie division incorrectly and not changed to Open will be disqualified from the tournament with no refund given.

  2. We will post the entries by division and weight classes on our website, www.main.org/baileybears  .  You can check these entries to make sure your wrestlers are in the correct weights and divisions.
  3. If you see any mistakes, please contact us at Jim.dorsey@amd.com or call John Gogonas at 512/577-4641.  
  4. Division 6 will be awarded Trophies instead of medals as was indicated previously on the flyer.

Important information regarding the Tots division:

Even though we have grouped the tots into one group, we have had several requests to separate the "rookie" tots from the "open" tots. Because of the large number of entries in the 40, 45, and 50 weight classes for tots, we are going to separate them into "rookie" tots and "open" tots for those three weight classes. The "open" tots will be awarded the large Heart of Texas medals, while the "rookie" tots will be awarded nice trophies. The result is that more tots will go home with awards and they will more than likely get to wrestle other wrestlers with similar experience.

We are separating these wrestlers based on how you entered them. Most of you listed them as either "rookie" or "open" when you sent in the entries. If you want your "rookie" wrestler to be with the "open" wrestlers, please let us know by Wednesday, Jan. 21 either by email to Jim.Dorsey@amd.com or by phone to John Gogonas at 512/577-4641. Thank you. We hope this will give more tots a chance to wrestle more matches and give them to chance to wrestle other wrestlers with similar abilities.
