XVI. Methodology
1. Principles and Focuses
- We are Christians. We promote the integral growth process with love, patience and perseverance.
- We strengthen the Christian unity and solidarity
- We are generous.
- We promote self-management and self-sufficiency
- We promote processes of quality: effectively and efficiency
- We promote active participation and awareness of men, women, children and youth, individually and collectively.
- We maintain biblical and theological principles and values.
2. Methodology Process
- Each year we will carry out the Operating Plan, with the participation of the local committees, CESSMAQ, advocates professional or technical advisors. The base is the present Five Year Plan.
This operating plan process consists of the following elements:
- Diagnostics of SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats): of community, of promoters and teachers, of CESSMAQ
- Each program's plan.
- Monitoring and evaluation systems
- The promoters of each program implement their operational plans in each community.
CESSMAQ will help with training, counseling, and resources as well as directing, coordinating, supervising, and monitoring.
- Annually carry out evaluations on each program at two levels:
- With advocates and CESSMAQ.
- Local committees and the benefited community.
- Plan community intervention
Stage One
Three years of intensive work. CESSMAQ will be involved in 100% of the work.
The principle axis or focus will be:
- Sensitivity: At the beginning of work in a community we carry out a process of sensitivity at all levels with the goal that the population will rise and take possession of the work of growth. We ground this work in the moral and Christian demand to break passivity and conformity, and face the problems and needs of those that suffer. This process is permanent.
- Create a social structure: local development committees, female development committees. So that they join to plan the transforming action in a self-sustaining and self-managed manner.
- Training and social technique formation via the different programs.
Stage Two
Initiate in the fourth year the process of transferring responsibility.
CESSMAQ will let the decisions and actions fall into the hands of the committees and advocates without much intervention. CESSMAQ will assume roles of consultant, counselor and liaisons to resources.
The committees are going to consolidate their local abilities and independence to avoid depending on CESSMAQ.
Stage Three
Disengagement. At the end of the five years, we carry out an evaluation of the five-year plan.
We plan to release the local committee and establish a period for time for help and support of programs or areas of weakness that need to be strengthened.
The community intervention by CESSMAQ will be on specific matters.
We will promote the consolidation of the community organization and help them to create a legal identity (incorporation).
At the end of disengagement, the independent organizations will get help from CESSMAQ to establish resources and then assume the total work CESSMAQ was supporting and following. CESSMAQ will retire from the community, completing a final evaluation of the social impact.
