CTACS General Meeting for August 20, 2007

Attending: Charlie and Chris Boas, John Herron, Mark Thomas, Keith Sterzing, and George Wyche.

The biggest excitement was a smashed road sign, 2 cars and a immovable tree. A car coming out of a business on the east side of Burnet cut across Burnet to head south, but the congested traffic prompted the driver to turn sharply, and responding to panic, over corrected, jumped the curb adjacent to Conan's parking lot, snapped a road sign, slid through the grass, hit a poor Crepe Myrtle, and careened a little more westward just catching a parked car's nose. The air bags did deploy.

Cell phones everywhere, cars filling the parking lot, lots of people standing around and one verging on hysterical driver. The Fire Dept. arrived in about 2 minutes, followed by the police and, much later, the EMT.

It took a good swig of Shiner and a couple slices of pizza to resume the CTACS get together.

We congratulated Mark on his marriage to Woosong. Mark narrated for us a printed picture book of their ocean voyage through Jamaica, The Grand Caymans, and Belize. The cruise was round trip from Galveston. Mark said they loved nearly every minute of it.

For games this month I brought: Super Mario Clone FX, vor-0.5.3, and SnakeMe. It didn't take Chris long to dispose of the mysteries contained there in.

Keith Sterzing wondered if any official Amiga hardware had happened in the last month. Answer: No. Still all big litigation. Keith handed out calendars making fun of the current US administration and promoting his favorite candidate: U.S. Representative Dennis Kucinich of Ohio.

Everybody but John ran off before I could give my Amiga programming presentation. So John had to suffer through it. The rest of you will just have to do with this picture. This is my first cut. I expect to revise it.
