CTACS General meeting for September 23, 2010

Well, thanks to my missing out last week, we voted for George to promise to email meeting notices AND I moved that we meet on the 3rd day after the 3rd Monday of the month. It passed.

It was pointed out that a formula like that probably isn't easy to code into anybody's automatic calendar. Heh. Sorry about that.

This month Mark Thomas, Paul Norrod, Treasurer Keith Sterzing, President Charlie Boas, and webMaster George Wyche all attended.

The big news is that Mark's section of Oceaneering got sold. Oceaneering got out of the Modeling/Training Business. I'm pretty sure that they'll find a place for anyone as talented as him.

I brought the Amiga Future #86 and, I hope you'll be pleased, I coughed up the $70 for another year's subscription. This issue reviewed MorphOS2.5, TimberWolf browser progress, an interview with Petro Tyschtschenko, more on AmiCygnix's Gimp v2.4.7, and finally several paragraphs about the X1000 in the Amiga Retrospective Part 20 bringing us to the present.

In a continuation of last month's discussion I queried those present about the new uses for my programming free time when it comes to the Amiga. I am choosing to come up to speed on the troublesome aspects of a 3D workbench for the Amiga. Something utterly missing from other noted OSes.

Ideas and musings took us a bit over the 8:30pm stated meeting ending time, but nobody seemed mind.

Keith is going out to California to see Sergei for a week so we expect a nice update at the next meeting.
