CTACS General meeting for August 15, 2011

Attending were, left to right, Glen S., club president Charlie B., Chris B., Kathleen B., Paul N., Mark T. George W. took the photo. Keith S. missed out, too.

I asked Glen about how the games company he is a big part of, and how the money raising was going. He said they are underway and are still hoping to keep it all privately owned.

The centerpiece for this evening was a travelogue by Paul. His longed planned bicycle trek with fellow Oceaneering employees from around the world. The group was a component in Tour De Tuli of over 300

From Paul:

"I am in the back row dead center with the red/white/blue jersey.

The tree is a Baobab tree en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adansonia

Many people call it the upside down tree as it looks like it's roots are in the air. There are lots of myths about the tree. A couple here www.blueplanetbiomes.org/baobab.htm and another that is basically that the tree was so beautiful and vain that the gods ripped it out of the ground and put it back upside down."

This is end of summer light for the close of CTACS meetings. I luxuriated in the ride home. For once I was not too full of pizza ... the ride in the (still) 90 degree dusk beat the heck out of the 103 of a couple hours earlier.
