Veteran's Day Parade - November 11, 1999

Austin, Texas, USA - 'Twas a brisk morning followed by a warm day for a parade. We had 15 members and seven old cars in attendance plus former member Horace Joseph with two cars. It has been reported that the parade route was crowded with viewers.

Many veterans are participants in the parade as well as spectators.

The Horace Joseph 1910 Cadillac carried a city council member.

Our own war veteran and planner for this parade, retired Lieutenant Colonel Ralph Parker.

  • Following the parade, we met at Hernandez' Cafe for brunch and then proceeded to Saltillo Plaza for ceremonies in remembrance of the Class of 1940 Austinites killed in World War II and Mexican Americans killed in all wars.
