Dan Waddle was born in Dallas, Texas, January 14, 1931. Received his commission in the USAF after attending Texas A&M in 1953.

He attended Pilot Training. at Goodfellow AFB, San Angelo Tex and Webb AFB in Big Springs Tex. He was a flight instructor at Bryan AFB for three years flying T-33 and T-28 aircraft prior to flying F86"s at Nellis AFB.

He was assigned to Missawa AB, Japan flying the RF-84F, and the RF-101. He then flew T-38' for three years at Moody AFB Georgia , prior to his assignment to RAF Alconbury, England flying the RF4-C.

Col Waddle was then assigned to Udorn AB in Thailand, and flew 159 combat missions in the RF-4C. He then commanded the 45TRS at Bergstrom AF,Tex.

After making O6 he attended school in Washington DC prior to being assigned to Hawaii to command the 548 Rec. Group for two years, then was COMIPAC (commander intelligence center pacific) in Hawaii for three years. His last assignment was Director of Intelligence for NATO Southern Command in Naples Italy.

Col Waddle retired in January 1983.
