December 9th, Tuesday at 7pm, Westview
Middle School Library - L.V.A.N.A’s December Holiday Social
Please join us for holiday fair and to show appreciation
to our many volunteers for 2003.
THIS IS IT
As of December 31, 2003 this will be the last
newsletter delivered to your home.
Siting financial inability to pay for printing
the newsletter, no volunteers to serve on the Executive Board, and no
volunteers to fill the newsletter editor, advertising representative and
newsletter coordinator positions, the current board has no alternative but to
fold the association until further notice. (The Park Fund money donated over the past several years,
however, remains in a separate account for the intended use of park
improvements to happen this winter).
To check the status of the association
after December 31, 2003, you may go the L.V.A.N.A. website at www.main.org/l.v.a.n.a. No newsletters will be delivered in January.
An online newsletter may or may not be available in February. If a newsletter editor is found, newsletters
will be emailed or mailed/hand delivered to members only. No meetings will be had until key positions
are filled. If none are found in the
next 6 months, a special meeting in June may be announced.
To volunteer for one of the posts listed, contact an officer
listed above. In order for the
association to continue in making a mark in our community, sponsoring garage
sales, making/printing a newsletter, hosting events and neighborhood
gatherings, hold meetings, keeping in touch with surrounding associations and
community crime fighting partners … volunteers are needed. Crime loves this sort of dilemma.
Help
keep the light burning in Lamplight Village.
If not you, then who? So much is to be lost for our neighborhood but
so much could be gained if we all did a small part. Whether it be putting out the meeting signs, helping with ads, writing
an article for the newsletter, delivering newsletters one time, running to the
printer to drop off/pick up the newsletters, inserting flyers, bringing
refreshments for a meeting….just a one time donation of your time can help make
a difference.
CHRISTMAS YARD DECORATING
CONTEST DECEMBER 13-14 This will be a 2 night
judging affair. Leave your lights
on from 7-9 p.m. on Dec. 13th and
14th. The 13th will be
the individual judge’s picks and on the 14th the judges drive
the neighborhood and collaborate to make the final choices. 1st, 2nd & 3rd
place winners will receive a yard sign thru the
holiday season. Criteria for judging is
based on creativity, originality, special effects, design, technical
attributes and most important of all, the “WOW” factor. It is not how many great decorations you
have in your yard but rather how well it is done that catches the eye of
the judges. So dust them off and
hang them up! Happy Holidays to
all! DO All the good you can ~ by all the
means you can ~ in all the ways you can, in all the places you can ~ at all
the times you can, to all the people you can ~ as long as ever you can. John
