About the Voters Guide

The League of Women Voters-Austin Area is a nonpartisan organization that provides information about political issues and candidates in order to promote greater citizen responsibility and participation in government. Because the League is nonpartisan, it does not support or oppose any political party or any candidate. It does publish and distribute factual information for citizens to use in preparing to cast an informed vote.

The publication of statements and opinions of candidates is solely in the interest of public service and is in no way to be construed as an endorsement by the League of Women Voters. The League takes no responsibility for any of the views or facts stated by the candidates.

Responses in this VOTERS GUIDE were obtained by means of a questionnaire sent to all candidates. The answers from candidates are printed exactly as received. The League does not edit for meaning, grammar, or spelling. Because of space restrictions, the League advised the candidates of word limits on their responses. Responses exceeding the 75 word limit have been cut, as indicated by double slash marks (//).

The names of the candidates are listed by political party under the office sought in the order appearing on the ballot. If a candidate did not respond to the questionnaire, the words “No response” appear under the candidate’s name. If a candidate has no opponent for the office sought, in either party, the word “Unopposed” appears after his/her name.
