50^th Annual Homecoming & Reunion

Saturday May 22, 2010 -- Flag Day at Mahomet

The Flag Ceremony began at 11 A.M. The weather ended up being cooler than in past few years making it ideal. Harold Hunt gave the invocation.	Select Picture to Enlarge
Ron Johnson the Secretary/Treasurer led the pledge to the flag. Our thanks to each of the volunteers who donated their time and effort to clean, cut and trim the cemetery.	Select Picture to Enlarge
The name of each veteran buried at the Mahomet Cemetery was then read by Glynda Noland. Family members and friends placed an American flag in the flag holder on each veteran's grave.
The business meeting was held before lunch. Eldon Williams, President of the Mahomet Cemetery Association conducted the meeting. Ron Johnson, Secretary/Treasurer read last year's business meeting minutes and presented the financial statement. The terms for one of the directors expired this year. Louis Insall was re-elected for another term.
Harold Hunt and Ron Johnson showed pictorial map of the Mahomet, Sycamore Springs, Liveoak communities. They are attempting to determine information on who attended school at both Sycamore Springs and Live Oak and update the map showing the families that lived in the area during that time frame. The map will be made available once completed.
A Barbecue meal was available for lunch. Special thanks to those who provided the wonderful desserts.
