52nd Annual Workday
Saturday May 19, 2012 -- Work Day at Mahomet Cemetery
Agnes is that you up there? (Select Picture to Enlarge.)
There was a wonderful turnout of folks for workday this year. A few highlights from workday include:
Our thanks to each and every volunteer who donated their time and efforts to clean, cut, trim and repair the cemetery.
Those that paved the way in years past would be proud of the result of our contributions.
Perhaps we should invite our children and/or grand children to work day next year so the next generation will know they should carry on.
- We are proud that the family of Bud and Eunice Smith, who provided our flag pole in years past, provided a new flag this year.
It was flown proudly.
- We are proud that Fred and Sharian (Williams) Kinnison donated many hours and sacks of concrete leveling and cleaning a number
of the very old tomb stones.
- We are proud that once again this year Lyle and Agnes McAndrew brought their lift and trimmed the trees.
- We are proud of the untold hours that our outgoing board president Eldon Williams spent cutting, trimming and meeting families
at the cemetery. Our hat is off to him for his years of service.
Please let us know of any additions or corrections.
Should you have photos you would like to share, please send them to us.--
Donations to the
Mahomet Cemetery Association for the maintenance and preservation
of the cemetery are always appreciated.
