Present: Charles Bush, Bill Del Vecchio, Pat Eagan, Merlen Howe, John Musgrove, Roger Rabago

President Merlen Howe called a special Board Meeting for the purpose of discussing details of the following projects. The meeting was called to order at 1330 hrs.

1. 50th Anniversary Celebration

A. The Brochure commemorating the celebration was discussed and approved for printing. Pat Eagan is to retype some of the pages; Bill Del Vecchio will compose the Commemorative Coin page; Roger Rabago is responsible for the cover and will take the completed Brochure to the printer.

B. Rylen Rudy - along with President Howe - will be VADM Norbert Ryan's escort upon his arrival in Austin. This will entail picking him up at the airport; taking him to his hotel; taking him to Camp Mabry to meet the Commanding Generals of the Texas National Guard and taking him to BAE for the evening's activities.

C. The Renaissance Hotel at the Arboretum was suggested as a good place the VADM Ryan to stay while here.

D. Several suggestions were discussed as possible speaking topics for VADM Ryan. It was decided that the speaking topic should be his choice.

E. The Chapter will pay for dinners for the three National Guard Generals and their spouses.

F. The consensus of the Board members present was to use round tables. Pat Eagan and Sandy will coordinate the tablecloths, napkins and a red, white and blue centerpiece which will contain a gold "50" on each table.

2. TCC Meeting - Feb. 5 & 6, 2009 - in Austin

A. John Musgrove is the coordinator for this meeting to be held at the Wyndham Hotel in Austin. The only activity our Chapter will be required to organize is one on Friday morning from 9:00 - 12:00 for the wives of the Board Members of TCC. It has been suggested that they visit the LBJ Library.

B. There will be one Board member and spouse from our Chapter who will attend the Thursday night dinner. This person will be designated at a later date.

The meeting adjourned at 1440 hours.
