21 APRIL 2008 PRESENT: Charles Bush, Ernie Dean, Bill Del Vecchio, Pat Eagan, Leon Holland, Merlen Howe, Norm Jefferson, Fred Lord, Martha Pyle The meeting was called to order at 1230 hrs. by Chairman Leon Holland Chaplain Dean opened the meeting with an Invocation CONFERENCE CALL REVIEW A. All agreed on the 3 documents to be distributed to AMOAA members at the dinner meeting in May. Those documents are: Personal Information Checklist; Personal Affairs Committee's purpose and list of members; Document Location Checklist. There will be an additional handout to members - a handbook provided by National AMOAA. B. It was also agreed upon that the procedure for notifying Personal Affairs Committee of a death should be through the Chaplain and the appropriate Service Rep. OLD BUSINESS A. Updated "Useful Phone Number List" was e-mailed to Service Reps for any additional numbers and to insure the accuracy of the list. This list will be given to John Rehm for publication in the monthly newsletter. B. Task Force volunteers Ernie Dean, Bill Del Vecchio, Fred Lord and Leon Holland will compile a few Survivors Handbooks to be distributed as needed. C. Key points to be covered by Leon Holland at the May dinner meeting 1. How the committee got started NEW BUSINESS A. Suggestion was made that refrigerator magnets or Vial of Life containers detailing medications taken and health conditions be available in homes in case of an emergency. This idea should be mentioned in the monthly Bulletin along with other Personal Affairs tips in a recurring spot entitled "Did You Know?" B. Austin Seniors Guide mentioned as a good source of information Chaplain Dean closed the meeting with a Benediction Meeting adjourned at 1320 hrs.
