Wesley A. Lokken
Colonel, USMC (Ret)

A Minnesota Native who arrived in Austin, Texas in the summer of 1990. Graduated from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota in May of 1960 with a course of study in Mathematics and Business Administration. Joined the USMC Platoon Leaders Class program in December 1956, and was commissioned during graduation ceremonies at Concordia.

Assignments included duties with the First Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, Ca., Landing Force Training Command, San Diego, Ca., Marine Barracks, Kodiak, Alaska,
Headquarters, Marine Corps, Washington, D. C., Marine Corps Air Bases, West, Third Marine Division, 3rd FSSG Okinawa, MCB, Quantico, Va., Marine Corps Base, 29 Palms, Ca. Also included was an assignment to George Washington University as a student in the Financial Management program (MBA (FinMgmt)).

Duty assignments included command of Infantry platoon, Company and Battalion units, and assignments on battalion thru division staffs, and at Headquarters, Marine Corps. Subsequent to the completion of the GWU program, assignments were increasingly directed into the financial management field, serving as the Comptroller for four major commands/organizations before retirement in 1985.

Again, after the GWU tour, I participated as an adjunct instructor for Undergraduate and Masters degree programs for several Colleges and Universities located on or near my duty station, including the University of Maryland, Phoenix University, Redlands University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Park College, Chapman College, Pima College, The College of the Desert. I continue to teach as an adjunct instructor for Concordia University at their San Antonio campus.

Current efforts are focused on the growth of a bookkeeping and tax business with locations in Austin and Johnson City, Texas. I work with clients from Central Texas to the states of Florida and the Washington.

Military awards include the Legion of Merit, The Bronze Star with Combat V, the Navy Commendation Medal (2), Combat Action Ribbon plus unit and theater awards.
