AMOAA BOARD MEETING MINUTES
26 APRIL 2010

PRESENT: Philip Denney, Pat Eagan, Leon Holland, Joyce Hoover, Merlen Howe, Norm Jefferson, Bev Kelsey, Wes Lokken, Ben Meharg, Roger Rabago

The meeting was called to order by President Wes Lokken at 1330 hrs.

Asst. Chaplain Leon Holland opened the meeting with an Invocation

MINUTES of the March Board Meeting were approved as submitted

TREASURER'S REPORT - Bank Balance as of 31 Mar. 2010 - $13,131.11

OLD BUSINESS

A. December Dinner/Dance -December 8, 2010

1. Leon Holland and Bill Del Vecchio will be the Dinner/Dance Coordinators. Bill has made the necessary arrangements for the Band.

2. MOWW has been contacted and has agreed to cancel their December meeting and join us for the dinner/dance.

3. The Navy League would like an invitation so they can coordinate with our date in December. It was further suggested that we invite the Austin Military Coalition also.

4. Invitations are to be mailed in October

NEW BUSINESS

It was suggested that we need better communication with the Military Coalition. Pres. Lokken agreed to contact J.R. Howard (our webmaster) and ask him to coordinate information from the Coalition on our website.

OFFICERS REPORTS

2ND. V.P. - Ben Meharg reported that only 35 members had not renewed their membership at this time. He will give the names of those who did not renew to the appropriate Service Reps. and ask them to pursue contact.

TREASURER - Roger Rabago distributed spread sheets detailing receipts, expenditures and bank balances for 2009.

ROTC - Two presenters are still needed for JROTC in Georgetown and Bastrop

PRESIDENT'S COMMENTS

Wes Lokken reported that GEN Joy Stevens from the Texas National Guard would be the installing officer for our May meeting. He was to confirm that she would also be the speaker.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Wes thanked the Board for their help during his tenure as President. He also expressed his appreciation for the privilege of serving as President
