AMOAA BOARD MEETING MINUTES PRESENT: Charles Bush, Ernie Dean, Pat Eagan, Leon Holland, Joyce Hoover, Merlin Howe, Wes Lokken, Fred Lord, Ben Meharg, Roger Rabago, John Rehm, Brian Smallwood, Gerry Walters The meeting was called to order by President Wes Lokken at 1330 hrs. Chaplain Dean opened the meeting with an Invocation MINUTES of the May Board Meeting were approved as submitted TREASURER'S REPORT - Bank Balance as of 31 July 2009 - $10,932.20 OLD BUSINESS A. Laura Fowler has offered to have her law firm create the 501 c 3 filing for the scholarship contributions to our organization. The firm will waive legal fees and charge the Chapter filing fees only. B. Renewal of Membership Dues - Ben Meharg will send out letters to members who have not renewed by December. John Rehm will put a reminder in the Newsletters regarding the 2010 dues. Charles Bush suggested we have dues renewal forms at the Treasurer's table at each dinner meeting to encourage members to pay their dues. NEW BUSINESS A. Wes Lokken reported that there has been a suggestion to change our December meeting from the traditional dinner/dance to a dinner/boat trip on the Lake. The majority of Board members were concerned about problems with weather, temperature and age-related difficulties of our members if a boat trip were planned. No definite decision was made at this time. OFFICERS REPORTS 2nd. V.P. - Ben Meharg is working on the data base for the Directory. He hopes to get it out in approximately 2 weeks. TREASURER - Roger Rabago will put another notice in the Newsletter asking members to indicate if they want an E-mail Newsletter. It was also suggested our membership forms be revised so that members can indicate their preference for an E-mail Newsletter. CHAPLAIN - Ernie reported that Charlie Ferguson had experienced a serious fall and was currently in St. David's Rehab Center. Martha Bangasser has been in severe pain and doctors are unable to discover the problem. CAPT Will Brown recently passed away. PERSONAL AFFAIRS - Leon Holland announced that the Personal Affairs Committee will meet at 12:30 on Monday September 21 at the Museum at Camp Mabry - one hour prior to the September Board Meeting. PRESIDENT'S COMMENTS Wes Lokken reported that he attended the TCC Meeting and that he will distribute information on various matters to the individual Board members to whom it is pertinent. GENERAL COMMENTS Gerry Walters thanked Ernie Dean and Merlin Howe for the inspiring Memorial Service they conducted for his wife. Chaplain Dean closed the meeting with a Benediction.
