27 FEBRUARY 2012 PRESENT: Ernie Dean, Phillip Denney, Pat Eagan, Chuck Gaede, Leon Holland, Bev Kelsey, Cecil Martin, Maurice Quigley, Gerry Walters, Nathan Webster The meeting was called to order by President Quigley at 1335 hrs Chaplain Ernie Dean opened the meeting with an Invocation MINUTES of the January meeting were accepted as submitted TREASURER'S REPORT - Bank Balance as of 31 January 2012 - $9,163.28 NEW BUSINESS A. It was suggested that we waive a guest fee for the first meeting of a potential member as an incentive for joining the chapter. 1. A Motion was made, seconded and passed unanimously that we make a public announcement that chapter members should recruit fellow officers and tell them they will have one complimentary dinner if they are going to join the chapter and that they should contact the appropriate Service Rep. to make their reservation. B. It was decided that information re: AMOAA be put in neighborhood newsletters with a contact number for those interested in joining the chapter C. Nominating Committee 1. President Quigley will ask Roger Rabago to chair the Nominating Committee.
Their report is to be given to the membership in March with election of Officers
in April OLD BUSINESS A. Handling charges for drinks at the dinner meetings 1. A Motion was made, seconded, and passed unanimously that there be 2 jars on the Bar - (1) TIPS and (2) SUGGESTED DONATION FOR ALCOHOLIC DRINKS $1.00/DRINK OFFICERS REPORTS 1st. V.P. - Chuck Gaede thanked everyone who helped in setting up and taking down equipment at the meeting. The March speaker will be Rick McMonagle of the Parks and Wildlife Dept. 3rd. V.P. - Nathan Webster reported that $143.00 was spend for refreshments last month and that he will have to replenish the wine in March ARMY REP. - Gerry Walters suggested that we invite the Camp Mabry Garrison Commander and the Provost Marshall to a meeting as a thank you for using the facilities NEWSLETTER - Feb. 28 is the deadline for the March newsletter CHAPLAIN - Ernie Dean reported that he had been in contact with BGEN Didlake who is having hip surgery. He further commented on the General's positive attitude and how important attitude is in healing. ROTC - Cecil Martin is compiling a list of recipients of medals and presenters for the April newsletter Meeting adjourned at 1440 hrs.
