AMOAA BOARD MEETING MINUTES
22 JANUARY 2008

PRESENT: Ernie Dean, Bill Del Vecchio, Pat Eagan, Leon Holland, Joyce Hoover, Norm Jefferson, Wes Lokken, Verne Phillips, Roger Rabago, John Rehm, Chuck Seideman

President Del Vecchio called the meeting to order at 1330 hrs.

Chaplain Dean opened the meeting with an Invocation

MINUTES of the November Board Meeting were approved as submitted

TREASURER'S REPORT: Bank Balance as of 31 December 2007 - $7519.10

OLD BUSINESS

1. 2008 membership directory will be ready for distribution within the next 2 weeks

2. Letters will be sent to AMOAA potential members by the end of January

NEW BUSINESS

1. We have been asked by MOAA to participate in the Communications Award program. John Rehm has forwarded 3 issues of our newsletter to National for their consideration

2. Due to some confusion in seating the speakers and Board members at the January meeting, it was decided that it is necessary to continue the practice of assigning seats by name place cards.

3. The February dinner speaker will be Gay Powers, R.N. who will discuss the Tri-Care for Life insurance program.

4. Patriot Fund Project (the purchase of IBOT mechanical wheelchairs for IRAQ veterans)

a. It was decided that we would ask members to contribute to this fund and submit the money as a whole from the Chapter

b. Pres. Del Vecchio will write an article for the February newsletter regarding this project. He will also request that the Council of Chapters put the project on their quarterly meeting agenda and their website.

c. It was suggested that we invite Rosie Babin and her son (who is to be a recipient of an IBOT) to be our guests at a dinner meeting.

5. Pres. Del Vecchio will appoint the Nominating Committee for Board members for the year 2008-2009. This committee is to be announced at the February dinner meeting.

6. There will be a meeting of the Personal Affairs Committee on 31 January at 1330 hrs. at the Museum at Camp Mabry.

7. Pres. Del Vecchio will attend the Texas Council of Chapters quarterly meeting on February 8 and 9, 2008 in Tyler, TX

OFFICERS REPORTS

USAF Rep. - Norm Jefferson reported he had contacted 36 members who had not paid their dues - 20 will rejoin. He also agreed to be the Air Force Rep. on the Personal Affairs Committee.

The Newsletter deadline for February is Jan. 30.

Chaplain Dean closed the meeting with a Benediction

Meeting adjourned at 1500 hrs.
