PRESENT: Charles Bush, Ernie Dean, Pat Eagan, Bill Del Vecchio, Joyce Hoover, Jay Howard, Norm Jefferson, Wes Lokken, Fred Lord, Roger Rabago, John Rehm President Del Vecchio called the meeting to order at 1335 hrs. Chaplain Dean opened the meeting with an Invocation MINUTES of the April Board Meeting were approved as submitted TREASURER'S REPORT: Bank Balance as of 30 April 2007 - $8,714.15 NEW BUSINESS 1. Chaplain Dean has agreed to take over the duties of Personal Affairs Officer at this time 2. It was decided to reorder MOAA paperweights to be given to the speakers at the dinner meetings. Roger Rabago will order them from National. 3. J. R. Howard agreed to assume the duties of First Vice President until someone else can be secured for this position. There is a question as to Verne Phillips being able to assume these duties as he was elected to do. 4. The June dinner speaker will be LTC Sean Blaydon, an Ophthalmologist who served in Iraq. Dr. Blaydon is a member of our chapter. 5. The Texas Council of Chapters is requesting nominees
to serve on their Board of Directors. President Del Vecchio will ask Maurice
Quigley if he would be willing to serve on that Board as a nominee or as
Director from our chapter. OFFICERS REPORTS 3rd. V.P. - Charles Bush reported that he had checked with BAE about locking the back door of the dining hall for dinner meetings. Due to fire regulations, this cannot be done. SECRETARY - Pat Eagan reported that she had sent the names of our 2007-2008 Board Members to National and the Tx. Council of Chapters CHAPLAIN - Ernie Dean announced the arrival of his new grandchild, and that he would be out of town during the month of June. Asst. Chaplain Leon Holland will assume the duties of Chaplain for that time. ARMY - Fred Lord reported there are two new members from the Army NEWSLETTER - John Rehm inquired about the dress code for future newsletters. It was agreed that June and September would be CASUAL - all other months would be BUSINESS CASUAL. Chaplain Dean closed the meeting with a Benediction Meeting adjourned at 1435 hrs. PAT EAGAN THERE WILL BE NO JUNE BOARD MEETING THE NEXT BOARD MEETING WILL BE HELD ON MONDAY 24 SEPTEMBER 2007 AT 1330 HRS. AT THE TEXAS MUSEUM AT CAMP MABRY .
