21 NOVEMBER 2011 PRESENT: Ernie Dean, Phillip Denney, Pat Eagan, Chuck Gaede, Leon Holland, Bev Kelsey, Maurice Quigley, Nathan Webster The meeting was called to order by President Quigley at 1330 hrs. Chaplain Ernie Dean opened the meeting with an Invocation MINUTES of the October Board Meeting were approved as submitted TREASURER'S REPORT - Bank Balance as of 31 October 2011 - $8,747.25 NEW BUSINESS A. MOAA assignment of new members to chapters 1. Names of prospective members in our area were received from Ben Meharg. Pres. Quigley will contact them. B. There will be no drawings at the Christmas dinner - the cost is $25.00 per Person C. A motion was made, seconded and passed unanimously there would be Prizes for the scholarship drawings and they would be paid for out of general funds instead of as previously done - one-half and one-half donated by winners D. Chuck Gaede offered to update the Navy League on our programs and meeting dates since they did not have correct information on the Christmas dinner OFFICERS REPORTS 1ST V.P. - Chuck Gaede reported that the January meeting Speaker would be Amy Praskac whose topic will be Personal Affairs 3rd. V.P. - Nathan Webster distributed a list of expenses for bar supplies. He suggested we offer wine in lieu of meal tickets since this would be less expensive for the chapter. TREASURER - Phillip Denney suggested that we publish a request for Cell Phones for Soldiers in our newsletter. He also suggested that we continue putting a request for Scholarship donations s more money is needed. NEWSLETTER - The December newsletter deadline is Nov. 28 CHAPLAIN - Ernie Dean commented that it was a compliment to our chapter that both Edie Musgrove and Ben Meharg have attended the meetings in their time of grief ASST. CHAPLAIN - Leon Holland requested that we all be aware of someone sitting alone at a dinner - be sure to talk to them and make them welcome Meeting adjourned at 1445 hrs.
