AMOAA BOARD MEETING MINUTES
22 OCTOBER 2007

PRESENT: Charles Bush, Bill Del Vecchio, Pat Eagan, Leon Holland, Joyce Hoover, Fred Lord, Verne Phillips, John Rehm

President Del Vecchio called the meeting to order at 1330 hrs.

Leon Holland opened the meeting with an Invocation

MINUTES of the September Board Meeting were approved as submitted

TREASURER'S REPORT: Bank Balance as of 30 September 2007 - $7,096.16

OLD BUSINESS

1. Wes Lokken has a list of 1619 eligible AMOAA members in our area. He will print the list and bring it to the November Board Meeting.

2. Membership renewal update - the Service Reps. still need current lists regarding delinquent members

NEW BUSINESS

1. Charles Bush and Leon Holland gave reports regarding the Chapter Presidents' Symposium they attended in Grapevine, TX October 5-7, 2007.

Charles reported on the Leadership Briefing which included information on chapter organization and leadership succession, grassroots legislative support, recruiting and retention, community involvement, and the role of auxiliary members.

Leon reported on the Personal Affairs Briefing which detailed all of the information covered by personal affairs officers during the Symposium. A list of tools, resources, and booklets personal affairs officers can use to construct their own tool kits was also provided.

Leon also requested that an Ad Hoc Committee be appointed to formalize a Personal Affairs Committee, and that the Ad Hoc Committee would submit their report to the Board in January with their recommendations.

President Del Vecchio appointed the following Ad Hoc Committee: Leon Holland, Ernie Dean, Fred Lord, and Charles Bush.

2. Programs for January-June 2008 were discussed. The following individuals were suggested:

Gay Powers, R.N. - Tri Care for Life; Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson; U.T. Athletic Dept. Public Relations Representative; ADM Bobby Inman; a Guest Speaker from MOAA for our officers installation in May (confirmed); Richard Daley; Joann Hardy

Leon Holland closed the meeting with a Benediction
