Legislative Affairs

The legislative affairs officer keeps chapter membership aware of important legislative matters at the federal, state and local levels.

Responsibilities:

1. Communicate with National MOAA Headquarters for federal legislation, actions and/or proposals that impact the retired and active military community.

2. Establish communication with Texas and local sources for legislative activity and concerns.

3. Prepare written materials for the Bulletin Board,mailings, and the web site. Coordinate  "legislative alerts" issued by National MOAA.

4. Advise the Board of Directors on actions recommended concerning legislative matters.

5. Recommend   political goals and/or issues and proposed implementation steps.
