Newsletter Editor

Produces a clear, accurate and attractive newsletter containing information on matters of interest to members and their spouses. Evaluates and recommends chapter printing, mailing and other sources. Serves as the Board of Directors' principal means of communication with the membership. Promotes the chapter's activities to potential members.

The objectives for the newsletter and for the Editor shall include:

Responsibilities

  1. Obtain monthly inputs from chapter president, chaplain, personal affairs officer, and any other member who wishes to submit an article to the Bulletin Board.
  2. Edit articles for correctness and enter into the month's newsletter template.
  3. Search for items of interest from outside sources and edit for entry into the Bulletin Board. Obtain author's permission when necessary.
  4. Produce finished newsletter as close to the beginning of the month as possible. Send to commercial print shop via email, with copies to chapter president, treasurer, webmaster, and 2nd vice president.
  5. Send electronic copy to service representatives and all members who have indicated they wish to receive the Bulletin Board via email. Maintain list of said members with assistance of 2nd vice president.
  6. Keep hardcopy for archives.
  7. Attend scheduled board meetings.
  8. Submit the Bulletin Board in the competition for MOAA's newsletter awards program.
