POW/MIA Recognition Ceremony On Friday, September 19th, 2008, the National POW/MIA recognition day, the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA), Chapter 915, Austin , TX will conduct ceremonies honoring Texas Prisoners of War and those Missing in Action during the Vietnam War. Supported by the Texas Association of Vietnam Veterans, VVA Chapter 915 will invite the public and all other Veteran Service Organizations to attend and participate in the event. The recognition ceremony is free for everyone. The POW/MIA Recognition Ceremony will be held at the Texas State Cemetery beginning at 11:00am. The ceremony will consist of the presentation of Colors, the Pledge of Allegiance, an invocation, the POW/MIA Table ceremony, reading of the names of Texas POW/MIAs from the Vietnam War, a guest speaker, reading of Proclamations from State and National elected officials, a Fire Base ceremony, the playing of Taps, and the retiring of Colors.
