AMOAA BOARD MEETING MINUTES
24 SEPTEMBER 2007

PRESENT: Charles Bush, Bill Del Vecchio, Pat Eagan, Leon Holland, Joyce Hoover, Jay Howard, Norm Jefferson Wes Lokken, Fred Lord, Roger Rabago, John Rehm,

President Del Vecchio called the meeting to order at 1335 hrs.

Leon Holland opened the meeting with an Invocation

MINUTES of the May Board Meeting were approved as amended: Delete New Business Item #3

TREASURER'S REPORT: Bank Balance as of 31 August 2007 - $7,396.97

NEW BUSINESS

1. The November dinner meeting date was changed to November 14 due to the regular meeting date being Thanksgiving week. The December dinner-dance will be held on December 12. It was requested that these dates be published in the upcoming newsletter.

2. There will be a November Board meeting on Monday, November 19 and no December Board Meeting.

3. Wes Lokken drafted a letter which will be mailed to potential MOAA members in our chapter area. The letter will include membership forms and information regarding our monthly meetings. The recipients of these letters will be taken from a list provided to us from National MOAA.

4. It was decided that the Service Reps will call members on their lists who are delinquent in their membership dues to remind them to remit such dues.

5. The October dinner speaker will be King Cole of the Wells Fargo Bank. He will discuss the mortgage loan crisis currently affecting the housing market.



6. Programs for January - June were discussed. Fred Lord suggested representatives from Tri Care; Texas Veterans Commission; and CRSC. The Board chose Tri Care as a possible program. Other suggestions were Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson (a Retired Marine Colonel) whose topic is oral history pertaining to Texas lands, and Cathy Perkins, Asst. Commissioner for Regulatory Services - Texas Dept. of Health.

7. Charles Bush and Leon Holland will represent our chapter at the Chapter Presidents' Symposium Oct. 5 - 7 in Grapevine, TX.

OFFICERS REPORTS

3rd. V.P. - Charles Bush reported that the Camp Mabry PX is not stocking all types of liquor and wine as they previously did. He is going to check elsewhere for these supplies.

TREASURER: Roger Rabago distributed June, July and August reports as well as a YTD spread sheet of receipts and expenditures. He also reported that 3 people did not pay for dinners at the Sept. meeting.

AIR FORCE REP. - Norm Jefferson commented that he would like to develop a method of having his members make reservations for dinner by E-mail.

NAVY REP- Joyce Hoover reported 2 no-shows for Sept.

NEWSLETTER - John Rehm requested the following deadline dates for the newsletter: Sept. 28; Oct. 19 and Nov. 16
