We received great news! The Tocker Foundation bestowed a $2500 grant to the Library for the purchase of new books and periodicals. We will be buying books for adults, children, and for those speaking the Spanish language. Watch for more information as the new books come in.
The other great news in November was that the United Way and IBM donated 4 new computers and a laser printer to our Library! They are still in boxes but they will be unpacked and installed the last week of November.
A computer lab is being created.
Because of this, there will be new policies in place. The main change will be that a computer card will be required in addition to a library card to use the computers if you are a minor. We will be requiring a parent and their child to come in together to fill out and sign an agreement that will allow a child to have access to these computers and also advise them on compliance of posted rules and standards of behavior relating to pornographic and other unseemly materials. The Manor Public Library cannot control the content of the Internet and cannot be held responsible for its accuracy. The Library does not in any way support or endorse the illegal use of the Internet in any manner.
Sandi Hidrogo, Library Coordinator, is making the new computer usage cards for use in accordance with the new policies
