Cards are issued on a family basis for $2.00,$5.00 with computer privileges. Patrons need only show proof of identification at the time of issue. Patrons will be fined 10¢ per book per day when kept past the two-week period (or two-week renewal time). A video's overdue charge is $1.00 per day. Library Policies

  • Rules of Behavior

No food, drink or smoking is allowed on the premises. Parents must be responsible for children at all times.

  • Unacceptable Use of Hardware and Software

Accessing pornography on the computers is prohibited. The Library is considered a "safe environment". Therefore, violators will be reported to Law Enforcement. Also, anyone accessing pornographic materials will lose all Library privileges.

  • MPL's Internet Use by Minors Policy

The Manor Public Library is pleased to offer minors (ages 17 and under) access to a computer network for Internet Use. In order to use the Internet, all minors must obtain parental permission as verified by the signatures on the Parental Permission Form and Minor Child Agreement forms. The parent or guardian must sign the permission forms in the presence of Library staff or volunteers. Parental or guardianship may be required.

The MPL supports and encourages parents to determine the proper use of Internet resources for their underage children. As with all other Library materials, parents are ultimately responsible for their child's access to the Internet. Given the ease and uncontrolled availability of inappropriate and offensive materials on the Internet, written parental permission is needed for anyone under 18 to access the Internet through a Library computer. The Library cautions all Internet users that they be inadvertently or accidentally exposed to certain areas, which they find personally objectionable. In these cases, patrons are encouraged to report these occurrences to Library staff.

The MPL cannot control the content of the Internet and cannot be held responsible for its accuracy. The Library does not in any way support or endorse the illegal use of the Internet in any manner.

Library Mentor

The EAST RURAL TRAVIS COUNTY ADVISORY BOARD (ERTCAB) has been most instrumental in keeping the library up and running. Their moral support, financial help and guidance have indeed paved the way to the success we see today.
