New Bus
Stops at Rundberg and North Lamar
Open for Business!
Construction began in January on the improved Capital Metro
bus stops on Rundberg near North Lamar. The improvements are the result of
neighborhood input from NACA with coordination from HEB, the Villas at Quail
Creek, and the Little Walnut Creek Library.
In August, Capital Metro
completed the improved bus stop at North Lamar and Rundberg - south side, next
to the Library. The improvements include a pull-off lane to improve traffic
flow, and a 20-foot covered area with new benches, decorative pavers and trash
cans.
Construction was delayed on the north side pending city approval
for the irrigation system, but was completed in early October. There is a
pull-off lane on that side also, which should further reduce traffic
congestion. The bus stop has decorative pavers and benches, and a limestone
planter seat wall with landscaping and irrigation.
The City of Austin
has also provided a pedestrian crosswalk with flashing lights both overhead and
along the crosswalk itself, to facilitate safer crossing of Rundberg between
HEB and the Little Walnut Creek Library.
The temporary bus stop on the
other side of Little Walnut Creek to the west hs been removed.
