Bus Route Alterations
Reflect Changes in Ridership

Capital Metro Makes Changes to Route 101, others

Fare Increases set for October 13

As of Sunday, August 24, Capital Metro adjusted several bus routes to better accommodate the current ridership. The increase in ridership is due largely to the increase in gasoline prices.

In the NACA area, the 101 North Lamar Limited has been extended to the Tech Ridge Park and Ride, going straight up North Lamar instead of looping around the HEB via Rutland, Mearns Meadow and Rundberg. That will take pressure off the 1L and 1M routes during peak commuting hours.

The Limited's frequency and hours will remain roughly the same. That means that during weekday non-peak hours the 101 will still end at the North Lamar Transit Center at NACA's southern tip.

The schedule from Tech Ridge to downtown and back is now as follows:
  • Early Morning, Southbound from Tech Ridge P&R (6:00am-7:00am), every 20 minutes
  • Morning, Southbound (7:00am-9:00am), every 15 minutes
  • Midday, Northbound ending at North Lamar Transit Center (9:00am-3:00pm), every 15 minutes (catch the 1L or 1M to continue north)
  • Afternoon, Northbound from downtown to Tech Ridge P&R (3:00pm-5:00pm), every 15 minutes
  • Evening, Northbound (5:00pm-6:00pm), every 20 minutes
New stops north of North Lamar TC:
  • Rundberg/Lamar
  • Masterson Pass/Lamar
  • Braker/Lamar
  • Tech Ridge P&R
