Hello Park Improvements Enthusiasts, If you are receiving this email, you are either a member of the Quail Creek Garden Club, or attended the Park picnic on May 30, or have otherwise shown you are interested in getting improvements to Ron Rigsby Park. We have received many responses to the survey, either by computer or submitted on paper. We are looking for more participation in the survey, and will hold it open until July 10. You can use this link from the NACA website or we will have paper surveys at the NACA meeting on Thursday, June 18. We have paper surveys still to tally for data entry, but we looked at preliminary data for the first 15 online surveys. For each feature, we added the number of very important and important ratings. The top three features most commonly rated as very important so far were landscaping, sitting benches, and trash cans - closely followed by a water source and lighting. Since lighting is not be eligible under the grant process, we would like to form a small but active group of neighbors to work on this independently. If you will work on this, please let me or Ellen and Chester know. If you have not taken the survey, we urge you to do so in order to compile more complete neighborhood input on these improvements. Remember that each adult in the household can complete a separate survey. We will be developing the first grant application in August for submission Sept 1, and need your input to complete this process. We also urge you to draw or sketch your dream idea(s) of the layout of the Park - the map is attached. The layout map indicates where 3 light poles are located along the fence line, the small stand of oaks on that fence line close to the street, and the small stand of crape myrtles and wildflower garden located on the eastern side. Feel free to also include any detail drawings, if you feel the need to explain or illustrate further. We will submit our drawings at the August NACA meeting and have the neighbors vote on our ideas. This process will help us form an overall vision for the park and guide future grant efforts. So please participate and make your park desires known. Thank you.
