Pastor Regina Walker-Bowens

Betty Pastor Regina Walker-Bowens was born July 6, 1958 to Jessie Ann Walker-Richardson and the late Frank Walker at Robert B. Green Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. She is the eldest of three children.

At the tender age of eight, she was baptized and at age 11 was filled with the Holy Ghost while attending Faith Temple church in San Antonio, Texas under the leadership of the late Pastor Horace M. “Pop” Young. During her attendance there, she worked faithfully and enthusiastically in the ministry.

In 1975, while working in the ministry, she met and eventually married Johnny Ray Bowens (now Apostle J. R. Bowens) and is blessed with two grown children, Robin Denae and Andrew LaMont, and two beautiful grandchildren, LaMont “Mont” and Dasia.

In 1983, her husband accepted his call to the ministry and they relocated to Giddings, Texas under the leadership of the late Pastor J. D. Moore and the late Evangelist Rumexia Moore of Bibleway Pentecostal Church.

Although this move was met with much tribulation and turmoil, she held on to what God said and rededicated herself to God. She began to work faithfully in that ministry and held positions such as Sunday School Teacher. Usher and served as the Young People’s President to name a few. As she faithfully worked in the ministry, God began to bless the work of her hands and she received many blessings from God.

In 1989, she accepted her call in the ministry of the Gospel and together with her husband, founded their first church El-Bethel Temple Church of the Apostolic Faith (now known as New Life Apostolic Family Worship Center) in San Marcos, Texas. Again faced with many trials and tribulations, she kept the faith and with obedience stood the test of time and followed the vision God had laid out before them.

In 1991, the ministry relocated to Austin, Texas and with 10 members they began a mighty work. He blessed them to reach many souls during the time preaching the gospel in tent revivals, encouraging and strengthening other pastors, ministers and armor bearers. In 1996, with an even higher calling on her husband’s life to Apostleship, God counted her worthy and she was elevated to the Pastoral Ministry.
