Neighborhood Association

Welcome!

The Northwood neighbood is a diverse community with over 600 homes located just northwest of the Loop 1/Parmer Lane intersection. Established in the 1970's, this community has grown from a suburban neighborhood to an established urban community.

Our Association

The association meets on the first Thursday of every odd number month at the Milwood Branch Library at 7PM beginning in March. The dates of the 2009 meetings are as follows, March 5th, May 7th, July 2nd, September 3rd, and November 5th. The January 2009 meeting will be on January 5th. Attendence and participation in the association is greatly encouraged. Membership information is available here.

New City Ordinance effecting your home

Austin's new Energy Conservation Audit and Disclosure (ECAD) ordinance will most likely concern you. It applies to all homes over ten years old, within the city limits of Austin and receiving electric service from Austin Energy. This description of course fits practically every home in Northwood.

The city's stated overall goal is to:

  1. Reduce greenhouse emissions and respond to global climate change
  2. Offset 700 MW of peak demand by 2020
  3. Meet 30% of generation needs by 2020 from renewable energy

Neighborhood Garage Sales

Garage SaleThe Neighborhood Garage Sales are held twice a year on the first Saturday in May and the second Saturday in October from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., rain or shine.
