MEETING MINUTES __ November 30, 2010
Harris Bell Hall, Westminster Manor, 4100 Jackson Ave.

OAKMONT HEIGHTS NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION

Association President Arten Avakian called the meeting to order at 7:08 p.m.

Jaime Pacheco with Westminster Manor gave an update on the progress ofthe Manor's expansion project. Completion of Phase One is expected in January 2011, and completion of Phase Two is expected in March 2012.

Carl Hehmsoth, seconded by Tom Whatley, moved to dispense with reading and approve the minutes of the December 10, 2009, meeting. The motion was adopted without objection.

Tom Whatley, seconded by Lois Mayes, moved to adopt the by-laws amendment previously proposed to the Executive Committee and the membership: Amend the Oakmont Heights Neighborhood Association Bylaws, ARTICLE IV - MEMBERSHIP, Section 1 a) to read as follows:

ARTICLE IV - MEMBERSHIP

Section 1 - Eligibility
a) Membership in the Association shall be open to all adult (18 years and older) residents and owners of residential property within the following boundaries: West 35th Street (south), Jefferson Street (east), Bull Creek Road (north), and Jackson Avenue (west); and also the single-family residences on the north side of West 44th Street between Bull Creek Road and Loop 1 (MoPac Blvd.), connected by the city right-of-way along the west side of Bull Creek Road.

The by-laws amendment was adopted with all present voting in favor.

The following association members were nominated to serve as members of the Executive Committee for 2010: Arten Avakian, President; Carl Hehmsoth, Vice President; Tom Whatley, Secretary/Treasurer; and Vonda Bloomquist,Laura Lund, Lois Mayes, Griff Smith, and Anne Souby, At-Large. Anne Souby, seconded by Laura Lund, moved to elect the members nominat~d to serve as officers and at-large members ofthe Executive Committee. The motion was adopted without objection.

The association discussed current issues and priorities for the upcoming year, including parking permits/parking enforcement, safety and security, the status of the MoPac managed lanes project and noise walls, the status of the medical offices at 1600 W. 38th St., the status of the property at 1904 W. 38th St., the status of the State Cemetery property, a possible membership drive, and other issues.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:35 p.m.
