Chapter # 10 Central Texas/Austin

Meeting of POINT # 10/ Central Texas was called to order at 6:30 pm in the guest house of Bill and Lin ONOFRIO Brinkman with 8 present.
Scott PATRICK (#4819) has completed going through the films for his
ancestral town of PIETRAPERTOA [ PZ BA ], finding records for a few
more distant relatives.
He also was recently contacted by another
person with GARAGUSO ancestors from Pietrapertosa. This person
mentioned having filmed records from the Catasti Oncian from
Pietrapertosa [ collected in 1748 and 1779 ], and provided a link that
gives information about these documents at
www.italyworldclub.com/genealogy/catasti. It turned out to be records
collected for tax purposes starting in 1742 for the Kingdom of Naples.
After learning the names of some of Scott's relatives, he was sent a
link to several pages that showed a few of the relatives. Scott even
got the names of a few 6th-great-grandparents : Carmine RENNA and his
wife Angela DEMA.
Jeanie MARSALIA [ #4251 ] received a postcard from Margherita Marsaglia
CAGNOLA from Caselle, Torino, Italy, whom she believes to be a family
relative. Margherita wished Jeanie a Happy New Year, and let her know
that her health had prevented her from sending holiday greetings
earlier, all in Italian.
Jeanie, with her dual citizenship, voted in the recent elections for
the Italian Parliament.
She passed around pictures of her son, Shane
Mahon, who was in Norway on business.
Betty TOMMASELLI Glaser [ #5297 ] reported that after researching further on " familytree.org " on the ONOFRIO side of her family, she added these names to her family tree : DI GOIA, FRANCO, FIORE, IANNOTA, MASI, MONTALBANO, MONACO, PORTO, RAGGAZINO and SOLOMINI.
