LIN ONOFRIO BRINKMAN (# 1388) said The Italian Cultural Association of Austin is holding a Spring festival - Primavera - on 28 April in Lakeway, TX. Contact Lin for more information.
LAURIE GUGINO RIESTER (#3878) got a response from the National Archives : no records for great-grandfather. She is planning a 2 week return solo trip to Italy in September. She recommends using Eurail. She brings little gifts which say, "made in USA". Mentioned two places in Austin where people gather weekly to speak Italian: at 8:30, Thursday, at La Dolce Vita Gelateria on Duval Street, and at 3:30-5:30 on Friday at the Metro Cafe, Guadalupe near 21st Street.
URSULA PASSAFUME RADER has started looking at the FHC. She found out when her grandfather emigrated and got back to her great-great grandfather. She could not find his name in ITALIANS TO AMERICA. Ursula passed around an Easter card in Italian she received from Italy.
BILL BRINKMAN passed around information about the Pope making a John Dunse a saint. He is trying to
find a connection to his John Dunse. He figures it there is a connection, he'll have it made with already-done
genealogy!
PAT OXLEY (# 3713) brought her cousin, Dolores Glaser who went to Italy with her this past summer.

JEANIE MARSALIA (#4251) has 3 films ordered from FHC. She recently returned from California to visit her son who moved there in January. She ordered ship indexes for her grandparents and other passengers from the National Archives.

EUGENIA ASSIABENE LUKEN stated that polenta and risotto were once food for poorer people, but not anymore! She talked about making gnocchi.
GLORIA SILVA has a new grandson and passed around pictures of Zachary. She and Ernie are planning a trip to Italy in October via a cruise.
MARY JO SCOMA BELK (3845) has moved to Austin from Gun Barrel City, TX. Mentioned that Scoma Restaurant in San Francisco --- which several of our members had visited --- is run by distant relatives of hers.
