Meeting called to order at 6:40 p.m. with seven present.
BILL BRINKMAN announced he has ordered Bologna tapes from the FHC. He displayed a fold-out book on Pompeii.
LIN ONOFRIO BRINKMAN displayed a new book, ITALIAN IN 10 MINUTES A DAY, with the hope it may help her learn Italian.
TONY ABBATTISTA mentioned e-mail correspondence with Joe D'Oria in New Jersey--with 5 hits on their ancestries! Tony has received the birth certificates of his Grandmother and Grandfather from Comune Di Corato in Bari. He shared the catalogs from "Ancestry Publishing" and "Family Archives CDs".
SHEILA DUGOSH is now looking in Ohio County, W. Virginia for ancestors and reports she will be getting e-mail soon. She has learned her Great-great grandparents are Stephana Montana and Antonio Leona.
SHERON NICHOLS has found her Great-great grandparents are from Pennsylvania. She is now searching to see if her relatives came in at Galveston and will look in the records of the Texas Archives. She will be going to Pittsburg, Kansas to look up Dawson and Karns (Karnes).
DON VILLONI reported the LDS is updating its PAF. On e-mail, Don is connecting with Barone. He and his wife are leaving soon for Berlin. Don has put together videos of 8mm film of his family, dating back to the 1930s. His Grandfther Domenico Villoni composed twenty-nine Italian symphonic marches in Pennsylvania. Don has all the old lead plates for music for each instrument which are being re-used to print music again for Italian parades in Bridgeport, Pennsylvania. The music will also be included in an upcoming book on area Italian composers.
