modest redemption,

Tiny Vider, Texas, 1992, humiliated, had splashed across state and national news as a sort of ground zero for the Ku Klux Klan. The local economy was depressed, and the low bid (60% less than Houston) for steel bending for the Zilker Park Gazebo came from Vider. The computer generated dimensions were critical and fussy to attain. The long tubes proved to be accurately bent. Thus the desperate Chicano based team for the project, used to anti Klan action, was just able to keep in budget, and still field a masterpiece. Hopefully Vider transcends its history, and the African American community attains real equality, if not already.
