The current LAN is based on slow ethernet (coax).
Fast ethernet is the migration target at this time.
The on board network bridges to the LAN thru a wireless or umbilical link to the on board server (note book computer).
The Internet is bridged to the LAN by a single server over POTS connections. A dedicated virtual server resides at a provider. ISDN is the next baby step up.
The LAN layer consists of Mid Level Sensory Processing , Mid Level Actuation.
