Despite its richness, this design is built from a mere handful of simple low cost repeating elements. It is more compact and streamlined than the official counterpart for greater economy, shortened walking distances, better wayfinding, and concentrated beauty.
The graceful interplay of forms is freely suggestive of themes. Folks see a lone star, longhorn, A.T.-Austin's initials, or even the Star Fleet logo, depending on predisposition.
This plan closely overlays the actual plan as generated by the FAA and City of Austin Aviation Dept. Only the architectural response to the given constraints is different.
