KiteBiking the Pacific Coast
Fall, 2007- Discovery Trail to Ilwaco, WA
A magical bike rolling in paradise

| Kite-biking with just a simple sled kite with tube-tails,
kiteline tied to the handlebar stem, to steer at will, as
long as the general direction is down wind. The kite is
towable into the wind (hard work) as needed, something a
kite buggy can't do. Most important, the light weight
kite quickly stows on the bike to commute between kite
jaunts. Kite-buggies typically ride on cars long distances to special open places. The kite-bike is a hybrid (human power) operable on roads. It easily follows rough narrow single track paths. By using a stable kite the rider is free to almost forget it, while the buggyist must constantly fly an unstable kite while steering with the feet.
